As a seasoned gamer of wrestling lore, I must say that Kenny Omega‘s recent statements at NJPW Power Struggle have me buzzing like a vintage arcade cabinet on full tilt! The man’s been out of action for quite some time now, and it feels like we’ve all been playing on the “Continue” option, waiting for him to make his grand return.
As an ardent fan, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news about Kenny Omega! He graced us at NJPW Power Struggle recently, and he dished out a significant update regarding his comeback. It’s been quite a while since we last saw him in action, which was back in December 2023 in a bout against Ethan Page – a name now synonymous with WWE.
Previously, the AEW World Title holder had been engaged in a plotline with Chris Jericho prior to taking a break. Initially, they intended to take on Ricky Starks and Big Bill (the AEW Tag Team Champions) at the World Ends event. However, Omega disclosed that he was battling diverticulitis, which caused him to be out of action indefinitely, ultimately leading to those plans being abandoned.
Since the recent event, Omega has been away for approximately several months. During this period, he was dismissed from The Elite and subsequently filled by his NJPW rival, Kazuchika Okada. Their paths crossed in May during a shocking AEW Dynamite appearance by Omega. However, their encounter took an unexpected turn when The Elite assaulted Omega, ultimately leading to his removal from the show on a stretcher.
After that point, Omega has been out of action in AEW, but Kota Ibushi has given hints about his comeback. Lately, Omega mentioned the possibility that if he gets medical approval in time, he might team up with Tanahashi to take on The Bucks at Wrestle Dynasty – a joint event featuring wrestlers from NJPW, AEW, STARDOM, CMLL, and Ring of Honor. During his scheduled appearance at NJPW Power Struggle, Omega revealed significant details about his plans for making a return.

Kenny Omega expresses desire to make NJPW return at Wrestle Dynasty
At New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Power Struggle event, Kenny Omega disclosed a recent chat he had with Hiroshi Tanahashi. He shared that despite being a regular member of AEW, he has a strong desire to make his return in an NJPW ring. Unfortunately, he couldn’t provide a definite return date. However, Omega hinted that Wrestle Dynasty at the Tokyo Dome on January 5th could be a possible date for his comeback.
Omega underscored that New Japan continues to reign supreme as the premier league for sports and the top professional wrestling organization worldwide. He also made clear that he considers it his home base. Subsequently, photos emerged on the internet depicting Omega engaged in a physical altercation with Gabe Kidd.
In the context of a power struggle, Kenny OmegaManX makes a surprising statement: “Although I’m a full-time member of AEW, if it’s okay, I’d like to return to this ring… I want to come back on the New Japan Pro Wrestling ring.” This is currently being streamed on #njpwworld.

As a gaming fan, I can’t help but feel pumped about the possibility of Omega squaring off against Kidd in a one-on-one bout or teaming up with The Young Bucks – both of whom have announced their presence at Wrestle Dynasty. Only time will unveil the epic showdown that awaits!
