AEW Star Kenny Omega Exciting Return Plans Revealed

As a long-time AEW fan and avid follower of Kenny Omega‘s career, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and anticipation at the prospect of his imminent return. It seems like an eternity since we last saw him in action, and his absence has left a void that no other wrestler has managed to fill quite as effectively.

Kenny Omega, previously known as the AEW World Champion, has been absent from in-ring combat for more than a year due to diverticulitis. His most recent match occurred against Ethan Page in December 2023 at AEW Collision. Despite being out of action because of diverticulitis, Omega temporarily reappeared in AEW in May, having an encounter with Kazuchika Okada. However, he was ambushed by Jack Perry and The Young Bucks, who administered an EVP Trigger. After enduring a severe beating, he was carried out of the venue on a stretcher.

After spending an entire year recuperating from a serious bout with diverticulitis, Omega is all set to make a comeback in the wrestling ring. His upcoming match is scheduled against Gabe Kidd at Wrestle Dynasty on January 5th. Notably, this event will showcase wrestlers from NJPW, AEW, STARDOM, CMLL, and Ring of Honor.

In the most recent episode of AEW Dynamite, a behind-the-scenes video showcasing Omega’s return was broadcast, generating excitement for his upcoming comeback. Subsequently, it was revealed that he would rejoin Tony Khan’s promotion following his bout with Gabe Kidd. Yet, recent whispers indicate that Omega might make an early appearance in All Elite Wrestling.

Reports indicate Kenny Omega could return at AEW Worlds End

The closing pay-per-view of AEW for the year, titled “Worlds End,” is set for December 28 at the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida. Already, some thrilling matches have been revealed for the event. Notably, it seems that the former World Champion Kenny Omega may be making a comeback as well, according to recent reports from reliable sources.

Based on reports from Fightful Select (which requires payment for access), there have been discussions about Kenny Omega’s comeback at the Worlds End event during the weekend. Yet, specifics of his return are still uncertain, so it’s yet to be determined how Omega will interact with the roster upon his return, as this will mark his reappearance in the promotion after a one-year absence.
