Adolescence Season 2 Gets Exciting Update From EPs

A fresh update regarding Season 2 of “The Adolescence” has emerged from Plan B Entertainment, providing some insights into potential developments for the Netflix mini-series.

What is the new Adolescence Season 2 update?

In a recent chat with Deadline, co-heads of Plan B Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner revealed that discussions regarding potential seasons of the series directed by Philip Barantini (Adolescence) are already underway.

Gardner expressed a desire to expand the scope while remaining faithful to its core essence, avoiding repetition. She didn’t reveal much more, but she did mention that co-creator Stephen Graham and writer Jack Thorne might contribute to another installment of the miniseries, according to Kleiner.

Last month, Netflix premiered the mini-series “Adolescence,” which instantly gained popularity as a major success for the streaming service. The series narrates the tale of 13-year-old Jamie Miller, a schoolboy who finds himself arrested following the murder of a fellow student at his school.

All four episodes were shot as one uninterrupted scene, and within a week of its premiere, it became the most-viewed streaming TV show in the U.K. The series has even sparked real-life political influence, as some members of Parliament advocate for it to be required viewing in schools due to its exploration of the “manosphere.

As a passionate viewer, I’d describe it like this: “In this gripping series, I find myself immersed in the story of a family’s life-altering ordeal. I play the role of Eddie Miller, Jamie Miller’s father, who is also designated as an ‘appropriate adult.’ Graham brings my character to life, while Walters takes on Detective Inspector Luke Bascombe. Doherty joins our story as Briony Ariston, a clinical psychologist tasked with Jamie’s case.

The television miniseries titled “Adolescence” was helmed by director Philip Barantini from a script penned by Graham Thorne and Jack Thorne. The ensemble cast includes Faye Marsay as Misha Frank, Christine Tremarco as Manda Miller, Amelie Pease as Lisa Miller, Jo Hartley as Mrs. Fenumore, Mark Stanley as Paul Barlow, and Claudius Peters as Frank. Notably, the production was overseen by executive producers Graham, Barantini, Thorne, Dede Gardner, Brad Pitt, Carina Sposato, Nina Wolarsky, Emily Feller, Mark Herbert, Jeremy Kleiner, and Hannah Walters. Jo Johnson serves as the producer for this series.
