Adam Copeland Injury Update Given Ahead of Potential AEW Return

As a long-time fan of Adam “Edge” Copeland, I can’t help but admire his resilience and determination in the face of adversity. The Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match at AEW Double or Nothing was a testament to his unwavering spirit, even when he sustained a serious injury that required surgery.

Previously known as Adam Copeland, the reigning AEW TNT Champion engaged in a significant contest at AEW Double or Nothing opposite Malakai Black. In this high-stakes encounter, Copeland risked his title in a grueling Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match.

In the intense wrestling battle between both stars, Adam Copeland ultimately prevailed. Yet, his win came with a price, as he suffered a severe injury. During the fight, Copeland attempted a high-risk move – an elbow drop off the cage onto Black, who was positioned on a table laden with barbed wire. Instead of landing as planned, Copeland ended up tumbling onto Malakai after managing to stand on his feet first.

Following the show a few days later, Copeland disclosed that he suffered a broken tibia and required surgery due to the injury. This meant he had to relinquish the TNT Championship, which he had captured from his friend Christian Cage during an episode of AEW Dynamite. As Copeland is expected to be out of action for over three months, the former champion has now shared some news about his recovery progress.

Adam Copeland provides update on injury & recovery progress

Currently, the former TNT Champion on AEW, Adam Copeland, talked about his injury and healing process with Tyler Treese from ComingSoon’s editorial team. He revealed that he maintained his workout routine during recovery, allowing him to remain in shape.

As a gamer, I’d put it like this: “I’m really glad I chose [PurePlank]. Unlike other surgeries where I might end up losing my gaming groove due to prolonged inactivity, particularly with leg injuries, this time was different. With traditional recovery methods, you often find yourself confined to a seated or lying position for extended periods, which can really throw off your rhythm. But not with [PurePlank], it allowed me to continue my training uninterrupted, making the experience great.

Speaking about my recovery progress, it’s been three months since my surgery, and I’ve resumed walking. My daily life doesn’t cause any issues for me. Recently, I stepped into the ring to gauge my current condition, but there are still some areas that require strengthening, improved flexibility, and increased range of motion. Since the range of motion is crucial in our profession, if my foot can only move up to a certain extent, it could pose a problem. At this point, I’m focusing on regaining my mobility and then building back my strength and explosiveness.

As a devoted fan, I’m sharing that, despite my triumphant comeback, I’ve got some work cut out for me – rebuilding strength and flexibility in my recovering leg. Meanwhile, Jack Perry has seized the TNT Championship. The thought of me aiming for that title I never relinquished upon my return is intriguing. Let’s see what unfolds as time progresses.
