For the Spring/Summer season of 2026, Acne Studios unveiled their menswear line, delving further into themes of masculinity.
This assortment blends stylish sportswear features with a mix of nostalgic and intellectual styles, giving off an impression of clothing that have been passed down through generations. For this season, the emphasis is on a relaxed, spontaneous, and carefree approach to dressing, deviating from the previous season’s obsession with impeccable fashion. Jonny Johansson, Acne Studios’ creative director, highlights the “subtle confidence that surpasses perfection” as the essence of this collection’s appeal.
As a fashion enthusiast, I’m captivated by designs that span from exaggeratedly long to comically short silhouettes. The trousers have a voluminous jogger-like feel, while shorts are compact and boot-cut, giving off a nostalgic vibe. The ’70s decade seems to have left a lasting impression, with elongated collars on slim fitting shirts, hints of silk, and the introduction of the “1979” jeans – a slim cut inspired by that era. A modern twist is given to the classic “2010” jeans, which now come in a “mended” version, featuring a straight-leg and low-waist style. Accessories like aviator sunglasses, logo caps, cowboy boots, and a reinvented Camero bag, all contribute to an expression of personal style.
Johansson stated, “We continue to delve into and revamp the iconic styles of men’s fashion. This time around, we’re adopting a nerdy yet self-assured demeanor that surpasses perfection. Our design embodies a laid-back coolness, which is where its charm lies.
