On May 23, 2025, the movie “Ace,” featuring Vijay Sethupathi in the main role, made its way to cinemas globally. Less than a month after its theatrical debut, this romantic-crime-comedy has become available for streaming.
At the moment, you can stream the film “Ace” on Amazon Prime Video. Upon its initial release, it garnered a mix of positive and negative criticisms, and unfortunately, it didn’t do well in movie theaters.
During his visit to the theater upon its release, Vijay Sethupathi acknowledged that the movie’s launch was somewhat hurried and received less promotional attention.
In the course of our conversation, the actor mentioned that typically, following the completion of a film, there’s a phase set aside for promotions and connecting with the audience. However, it wasn’t until a week before the premiere that they began these promotional activities.

Ace narrates the tale of Kannan, a fellow embarking on a new chapter overseas brimming with aspirations. Yet, an unsuccessful robbery unwittingly draws him into a realm entangled with criminal activities.
In the face of growing shadows, the man finds himself entangled in a complex maze of treachery and peril, relying on his abilities to endure.
Cast and crew of Ace
The film stars Vijay Sethupathi as the main character, along with Rukmini Vasanth, who gained fame in Sapta Sagaradaache Ello. Additionally, actors like Yogi Babu, BS Avinash, Babloo Prithiveeraj, Divya Pillai, and Ramesh Thilak are also part of the cast, among others.
In a straightforward and engaging manner: The romantic crime comedy was created under the guidance of Arumuga Kumar, who wrote, produced, and directed it. Justin Prabhakaran took charge of the music, while Sam CS focused on creating the background scores. Karan B Rawat handled the cinematography, and Fenny Goa edited the film.
Moving on to his upcoming projects, actor Sethupathi can be found in the film Thalaivan Thalaivii, helmed by director Pandiraj. This romantic-action flick features Nithya Menen as its leading lady.
The first single for the movie, titled “Pottala Muttaye”, was recently introduced by its makers. This tune was created by Santhosh Narayanan and sung with Sublahshini.)
