In his latest venture, Djimon Hounsou is delving into the horror genre again, having recently played Henri in A Quiet Place: Day One prequel for Paramount Pictures, a role he reprised from the 2020 sequel. His horror movie credentials extend back to Deep Rising in 1998, Constantine in 2005, and The Vatican Tapes in 2015. Coming up next for Hounsou, you’ll find him in the survival thriller Last Breath alongside Finn Cole and Woody Harrelson, as well as in The Zealot with Kodi Smit-McPhee.

What is The Monster about?

The film chronicles the story of two young adults who earnily amass wealth by temporarily renting out extraordinary New York City apartments, which they don’t actually own. Their unsuspecting renters are unaware that they’re being deceived. However, their scheme unravels when they encounter an apartment owner with a hidden past, who manages to turn the tables on them. Darren Lynn Bousman, known for his work on the Saw franchise, will helm “The Monster.” This film will be penned by screenwriters Jonathan Bernstein and James Greer. The production house, Envision Media Arts, will produce this movie, with Lee Nelson and David Tish at the helm, alongside Mark Burg. Production is slated to start in November in Danbury, Connecticut.
