As a seasoned gamer who’s spent countless hours immersed in mystery-thriller narratives, I must say that “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder” episode 4 has me hooked! The plot twists and turns are reminiscent of those nail-biting moments in my favorite video games.
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder episode 4 picks up right where the third episode ended!
As a seasoned detective with over two decades of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the world of law enforcement is filled with its fair share of twists and turns. In this particular case, it seemed like Pippa and Ravi had hit a dead end when they couldn’t find Andie’s burner phone from her drug dealing days. However, as they say in the business, “When one door closes, another one opens.” In this instance, that open door led them to a whole stash of drugs hidden inside a seemingly innocuous plush doll. The fact that someone tipped off Pippa and Ravi about the doll, even five years after Andie’s untimely demise, speaks volumes about the long-lasting impacts of criminal activities. It’s a grim reminder that, in our line of work, we must always stay vigilant and keep digging, for you never know what secrets are waiting to be uncovered.
Besides the stash of illicit substances, they discovered a note pad listing the emblem of a hotel. Pippa deduces that Andie likely resided in that hotel, so they decide to pay it a visit.
Afterward, Pippa finds herself running late for her practice interview at Cambridge University. This event is witnessed by Mr. Ward, father of Cara and Naomi. The interview proceeds smoothly, during which Pippa and the interviewer delve into literature. Towards the end, the interviewer queries about Pippa’s Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) topic, to which she gives an untruthful response. Exiting promptly, Pippa hurries off to reunite with Ravi and continue their investigation.
Pip and Ravi follow the clue to a local town’s hotel. To gain access to one of the rooms, they trigger the fire alarm. Upon entering, they discover that Andie had indeed lodged in this particular room during her visit as well. A photo of Andie from Max’s house aligns perfectly with the floor pattern at the hotel. Moreover, they decide to pilfer the guest book to uncover who else stayed there around the time Andie was visiting.
While skimming through the visitor log, Pip spots her stepfather’s name, Victor Amobi, at a period when Andie visited. It strikes her that perhaps this elderly gentleman might have been the one courting Andie.
As Pip moves nearer to unraveling the murder mystery, she’s confronted by Dan, Nat’s brother and a police officer. He’s aware that they had intruded into Andie’s home, and he forces her into his vehicle, asking her to withdraw her involvement. He plays a video from Sal’s interrogation for her, where Sal becomes aggressive towards the detective questioning him.
Afterward, Pip confides in Ravi about a troubling suspicion: Sal might have been the one who killed Andie. It had been a while since she had opened up like this to anyone. She recalls the day at school when she encountered Sal and Andie, the day she told Sal where Andie was hiding. That was the fateful day that Andie died. Pip admits her guilt about the situation, saying in essence that she was being selfish for making it all about herself.
They get into a big fight, and Pip goes to Cara’s house. She doesn’t tell Cara what happened, but she does talk to Naomi. She admits to Naomi that she thinks Sal is guilty. For some reason, Naomi allows Pip to use her computer after Pip’s was stolen. In front of Cara, Naomi says a weird coded message that sends Pip down a rabbit hole to Max’s finsta. Pip finds pictures from the night in question that prove that Naomi, Max, and their other friends had lied about the time that Sal left the party for some reason.
In a hurry, Pip sprints towards the gathering for the graduating class’s Welcome Back party in search of Ravi. However, she unexpectedly encounters Max and Naomi instead. They make their way to a classroom where Naomi discloses the reason behind her and her friends’ deception towards the authorities. It turns out that someone discovered an action taken by Naomi and her companions, which led to this revelation. And with that bombshell, the episode concludes!
We don’t find out exactly why Naomi lied, but we’re about to in episode 5!
