If you haven’t been air-drumming and shouting “YOU’RE NOT THE BOSS OF ME NOW!“, then it suggests that either you are not being truthful or you lived in isolation, far away from popular culture, as your upbringing was under a rock in a cave submerged deep within the Bermuda Triangle.
Due to the fact that “Boss of Me” by “They Might Be Giants” is deeply connected to a popular show from the early 2000s, “Malcolm in the Middle,” it has earned an esteemed spot in many of our childhood soundtracks.
The series centered around mysterious Malcolm, whose last name remains elusive even to us in the writing team, beautifully portrays the resilient connections within his family. Not only did it encapsulate the spirit of the times through its comedy and narrative style, but it was also incredibly groundbreaking.
Frankie Muniz Doesn’t Remember The Show
Sadly, the main actor, Frankie Muniz, experienced multiple strokes after the last episode and now recalls little of the filming process. To ready himself for the impending reunion, he had to rewatch the entire series numerous times to reexperience it in some manner.
It was previously announced that new episodes of “Malcolm in the Middle” are due – with most of the original cast on board.
One Family Member Is Missing
The main characters, namely Frankie Muniz as Malcolm, Bryan Cranston as Hal, Jane Kaczmarek as Lois, Justin Tyler Berfield as Reese, and Christopher Masterson as Francis, will carry on the narrative of their family. However, one significant figure from this family will be absent, referring to Erik Per Sullivan who portrayed Dewey, the youngest sibling. For over a decade now, he has largely stayed away from the public eye, and since his last role in Twelve in 2010, he has not acted again, making only very occasional appearances at reunions or events.
A New Dewey
Fans need not worry about Dewey being completely absent. Instead, a new character named Caleb Ellsworth-Clark will be stepping into the role of Malcolm’s younger brother in the upcoming episodes.
Previously, an American actor has been seen in movies such as “The Silencing” and the Saw spin-off titled “Spiral”. His appearance suggests that he might make a fantastic substitute for the character Dewey.
It’s yet to be determined if his acting skills will shine through in the four new episodes we’re looking forward to, once they are released.
What Will The New Malcolm In The Middle Episodes Be About?
The story of the family is going to carry on, 19 years after the series ended. Malcolm, now a father, gathers with his siblings and parents to celebrate their 40th anniversary. And since we’re talking about ‘Malcolm in the Middle’, it’s safe to assume that this reunion will end up in total chaos just as every classic episode did.
How do you feel regarding the upcoming episodes in the series? Which one is your preferred episode, and are you confident that Caleb Ellsworth-Clark can play the role of Dewey convincingly?
