Wolfenstein show in development at Prime Video from the Fallout team

Last year’s debut of the Fallout TV series was an immediate success for Amazon Prime Video, and now, the creative team behind that project will delve into another iconic video game franchise. In its initial stages of development, a Wolfenstein series is being crafted by Kilter Films.

According to Variety’s report, Prime Video and Kilter Films are joining forces for the creation of a Wolfenstein TV series. Patrick Somerville will take on the roles of executive producer, writer, and showrunner for this project. The original Castle Wolfenstein was introduced in 1981, leading to a collection of games centered around Nazi-slaying and espionage. More recent iterations of the Wolfenstein series have been developed by MachineGames and published by Bethesda Softworks.

The logline for Prime Video’s Wolfenstein simply reads, “The story of killing Nazis is evergreen.”

At present, Kilter Films is working on the second season of Fallout, set to premiere on Prime Video towards the end of this year. Following suit, Amazon isn’t the only streaming platform that has acquired intellectual property from video games; Netflix has also given a go-ahead for an Assassin’s Creed series.
