Chris Sheridan, the mastermind behind the sci-fi mystery series “Resident Alien,” announced whether or not there would be a Season 5 before the final episode of the fourth season. This intriguing show first hit screens on Syfy on January 27, 2021. The second season was divided into two halves; the initial half premiered on January 26, 2022, and the second half debuted on August 10, 2022. The third season aired on February 14, 2024, with the fourth season following suit on June 6, 2025. The latest installment of the show was broadcast simultaneously on Syfy and USA Network.
Chris Sheridan and his team knew Resident Alien would get canceled after Season 4
The sci-fi drama “Resident Alien” has been terminated before its Season 4 finale, set for August 8, 2025. In a recent chat with TV Insider, star and executive producer Alan Tudyk revealed that he and his crew had anticipated the fourth season would probably mark the end of the series when they started planning it. He explained, “I was aware going into it that this was likely our final season.” He went on to share insights about how this knowledge influenced the making of the last season of the show.
Creatively speaking, it was thrilling since I understood we could tie up some plot threads and move towards a conclusion,” Sheridan expressed. “I’m incredibly proud of how well Season 4 turned out, and I’m particularly proud that we managed to end on such a high note, with an ending episode that might just be my favorite from the entire series,” he further added.
Title character Harry Vanderspeigle, portrayed by Alan Tudyk, is an extraterrestrial transplanted to the small town of Patience, Colorado in a comic book-inspired series adaptation by Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse. Despite his mission to eliminate humans, he develops relationships with locals and begins to challenge his long-held beliefs. The ensemble includes Sara Tomko as Asta, Corey Reynolds as Sheriff Mike, and Levi Fiehler as Ben.
