Quadeca has unveiled his latest album titled “Vanisher, Horizon Scraper“, which is his fifth studio album and the most extensive project he’s undertaken so far. This album was released independently under his label X8 Music. Accompanying the 14-track collection is a full-length album film, signifying a daring new phase in the multi-talented artist’s journey as a musician, producer, and filmmaker.
This year’s rollout started with “GODSTAINED,” a unique track that delves into Quadeca’s intricate exploration of religion and self. The beat revolves around bossa nova rhythms, embellished with woodwinds, ambient tones, and dramatic orchestral bursts. This piece mirrors the enduring influence of a “God-stain” on his perspectives. Afterward came “MONDAY,” a broad chamber-pop ballad that uses the symbolism of a new week to ponder cycles, sorrow, and emotional paralysis. His latest release is “FORGONE,” the heart of the project. Over seven minutes long, it unfurls like a cinematic eulogy — contemplating memory, duration, and unalterable loss. Each single stands out with its distinct sound yet powerful emotions, providing glimpses into Quadeca’s raw, boundary-pushing artistic universe.
In that world, Quadeca unveiled and showcased a visually stunning movie titled the same, which was warmly received at packed screenings in New York and Los Angeles. The film was captured on the volcanic island of Camiguin in the Philippines, further developing the album’s legendary sailor storyline by weaving together dreamlike scenes of tumultuous oceans, golden plains, and solitary journeys – all accompanied by live musical performances.
This album weaves a contemporary tale of folklore: a man embarks on a journey in pursuit of liberty, yet becomes ensnared by fixation and ruin as catastrophic events and mystical powers engulf his world. Haunted by reminiscences, mortality, and purpose, he ultimately disappears beneath the waves. The music echoes this narrative trajectory, seamlessly merging grandiose orchestrations, soulful choirs, atmospheric sounds, and dramatic crescendos. Notable collaborators include Danny Brown, a long-time partner, and Maruja, a British experimental rock group.
Horizon Scraper, the newest project by Vanisher, follows up on 2022’s “I Didn’t Mean To Haunt You” and the highly praised 2024 mixtape “SCRAPYARD”. These two works have solidified Quadeca as one of the most innovative and unconventional artists in modern music today. In this latest offering, he continues to demonstrate his self-produced ambition and skillful storytelling, taking both artistry and emotion to their very extremes.
The 31-city North American and European tour commences on September 30 in San Francisco and concludes on December 15 in Dublin. The duo Vanisher, Horizon Scraper‘s latest work is available now. You can view the entire film above and stream the album below.
