Discussing with X, Kamal Haasan expressed his views on Maareesan, describing it as a movie skillfully moving between cleverness and profoundness. Known for his role in Thug Life, he acknowledged that beneath its humorous facade, the film presents a thoughtful perspective on human feelings.
The message stated, “Hidden beneath its humor is a socially aware perspective on human feelings and a sharp focus on the deeper, troubling aspects of our society. This type of imaginative, vibrant filmmaking draws me in, whether I’m watching or making it.

Did Fahadh Faasil make Maareesan in Tamil because of Vadivelu?
In a recent conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Fahadh Faasil shared insights about Maareesan and disclosed that it was initially intended to be a Malayalam production. Nevertheless, the narrative required an actor like Vadivelu for the film’s plot, making his inclusion crucial.
In his own words, “I first learned about it as a Malayalam film. At that time, I was considering making a movie in Malayalam, and that’s when I came across it. When we started with the casting process, I felt we needed an actor like Vadivelu sir for this project.
In my role as a lifestyle expert, I’d express this as: Recognizing the unique charm Vadivelu brings to Tamil cinema, I found it only fitting to produce the movie in this language to ensure his inclusion in our project.
I excitedly shared, “Following our conversations, the producer approached us. Notably, he’s a seasoned Tamil producer himself and suggested we should create this masterpiece in Tamil. Yet, my one condition was crystal clear: if we were to do it in Tamil, it had to be with none other than the legendary Vadivelu sir.
