The popular sci-fi series, “Extant,” starring Halle Berry, is making a comeback on Netflix. Originally airing on CBS in July 2014, it ran for two seasons before being canceled by the network. Created by Mickey Fisher and executive produced by Steven Spielberg, the show concluded with its second season in September 2015. Now, fans can look forward to streaming it again on Netflix starting from a specified release date.

Released in 2014, the movie “Extant” revolves around the character of Molly Woods, played by Halle Berry. This astronaut has spent 13 months alone in space and upon returning to Earth, she finds herself mysteriously pregnant. According to Rotten Tomatoes, the experiments Woods conducts in space ultimately lead to events that will shape the future of humanity.

Regardless of boasting an illustrious ensemble consisting of Berry, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Pierce Gagnon, Grace Gummer, Goran Visnjic, among others, the series unfortunately came to an end on CBS not long after wrapping up its second season.

As reported by Deadline, CBS’ former president, Glenn Geller, announced that the network, in collaboration with the creators of Extant, have chosen to bring the story of the show to an end following the thrilling and satisfying conclusion of its last season. Geller further stated that they were pleased with the achievements of the sci-fi drama and expressed their appreciation to Berry for her dedication and backing of the series.
