The future of one potential Superman spin-off show is looking pretty terrific.
This month, Superman premiered in American cinemas. Directed by James Gunn, it is a film produced by DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures. David Corenswet portrays the main character Superman, Rachel Brosnahan plays Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult takes on the role of Lex Luthor.
Based on a recent article from Wall Street Journal, it appears that Gunn is contemplating the creation of two DCU shows as spin-offs to Superman. One potential show would center around Edi Gathegi’s character Mister Terrific, while another could focus on Jimmy Olsen, portrayed by Skyler Gisondo.
What is the new update on the Mister Terrific Superman spin-off show?
It appears that DC Films News has pointed out that DC Entertainment has recently registered a new trademark for both Mr. Terrific and Mister Miracle, encompassing various areas such as films and cinema.
DC Comics has submitted applications to secure the rights for ‘Mr. Terrific’ and ‘Mister Miracle’ in various fields, including:
1. Producing films (Motion Pictures)
2. Providing entertainment services (Entertainment Services)
3. Publishing comic books
4. Manufacturing toys
5. Selling apparel (clothing)In simpler terms, DC Comics wants to use these characters in movies, TV shows, comics, toys, and clothing items.

It’s not too shocking that Mister Miracle is part of the news, considering Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios are already working on an animated series with Tom King. But, the fact that Mr. Terrific is also mentioned suggests that the show is edging closer to being produced.
It’s worth mentioning that submitting a trademark application doesn’t automatically mean the project is underway – it might be a precautionary measure taken by DC to avoid future trademark disputes if the project gets approved later on. James Gunn has yet to verify that the DCU Mr. Terrific series featuring Gathegi is currently in development.
Speaking about it, Gathegi revealed to Variety that he has a multi-part agreement with DC, but the exact particulars of this deal remain unclear to him for now.
James emphasized that they won’t start production until the scripts are fully prepared, meaning whatever plans they have for my characters don’t matter yet. I prefer not to get too excited about things before they actually happen, as I aim to be a significant part of this world and whether it happens is simply a question of time, trust, and dedication from others.
