Kevin Feige on How Far Along MCU Is Mapped Out & if He’s Leaving Marvel

Kevin Feige has spoken about his role at Marvel Studios, putting to rest any rumors of him leaving, and revealed the studio’s future plans. In a recent interview, he confirmed his ongoing leadership and offered insights into upcoming projects such as Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday.

Kevin Feige on his future at Marvel

Kevin Feige has clarified that he will continue with Marvel Studios beyond the expiration of his contract in two years. He expressed his desire to keep creating blockbuster films for large audiences in the next decade and beyond, stating, “Absolutely! That’s all I want to do, and Marvel provides a fantastic platform for this.” This was shared during a press meeting at Marvel’s Burbank headquarters (as reported by Deadline).

Feige continues as the creative head at Marvel, steering its shift towards a more streamlined era of content creation. He underscored Marvel’s dedication to delivering high-quality work rather than an excessive volume, drawing on insights gleaned from recent productions.

Marvel is planning to release one to three movies a year while limiting its Disney+ output to just one live-action series per annum. Kevin Feige pointed out that from 2007 to 2019, they produced around 50 hours of content. However, since ‘Avengers: Endgame’ in 2019, they have created more than 100 hours of content within just six years – which he considers too much.

Kevin Feige explains how long Marvel currently has plans for

Feige disclosed that Marvel has a strategy extending up to the year 2032. He playfully hinted, “It’s a seven-year plan,” suggesting it might go beyond that point. He described it as flexible, like something on magnets that can be moved around. The existing scheme features a slower release rhythm and a concentration on unique, genre-based narratives, with a planned “reboot” following Avengers: Secret Wars.

The upcoming Marvel slate includes:

  • Spider-Man: Brand New Day (Sony) – July 31, 2026
  • Avengers: Doomsday – December 18, 2026
  • Untitled Marvel – July 23, 2027
  • Avengers: Secret Wars – December 17, 2027
  • Untitled Marvel – February 18, 2028
  • Untitled Marvel – May 5, 2028
  • Untitled Marvel – November 10, 2028
  • Untitled Marvel – December 15, 2028

As a dedicated gamer, I can’t help but feel the adrenaline rush when I hear that Secret Wars is set to bring an end to the Multiverse Saga. It’s like knowing that the final boss in my favorite game is about to drop, and I’m eagerly anticipating the reboot of core timelines and characters. This includes a fresh start for the X-Men, and I can hardly wait to see what new lineup they’ll unveil!

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is scheduled to release on July 25, 2025.
