On July 21-27, 2025, Paramount Plus is set to debut two new releases: the seventeenth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race and the sixteenth season of its companion series, RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked.
On Wednesday, July 23, 2025, the seventeenth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race will debut on Paramount Plus. Originally aired from January 3 to April 18, 2025, on MTV, this season is the latest installment in the popular competition series. In this season, RuPaul returns as host and head judge, seeking to find America’s next Drag Superstar.
As a gamer, I’m excited to share that I’ll once again be joining Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley, Ts Madison, and Ross Matthews on the judging panel for the upcoming season. This year, we’ve got Law Roach joining our crew. If you don’t know, Law is a renowned stylist who has worked with stars like Zendaya, Céline Dion, and Anya Taylor-Joy. He made a splash as a guest judge last season, so it’s great to have him permanently on our judicial panel now!
In this latest season, Onya Nurve was crowned as “The Next Drag Superstar,” winning a substantial sum of $200,000 and the title. Jewels Sparkles came in second place, and Crystal Envy was honored with the Miss Congeniality award.
RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked, Season 16 also drops on Paramount Plus on July 23.
Season 16 of Untucked first aired on MTV on January 3, 2025, and ran for 14 episodes until April 4, 2025. This spin-off series provides viewers with an exclusive look at the team working behind the scenes of RuPaul’s Drag Race.
The program received a total of 14 Emmy Award nominations. Of these, it was nominated eight times in the category of Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program, and managed to win once. Additionally, it earned six nominations for Outstanding Picture Editing in an Unstructured Reality Program.
