Mahesh Narayanan to helm biopic on India’s 1st Formula One racer?
As per Variety’s report, the collaborative project between Mahesh Narayanan and Narain Karthikeyan is provisionally named NK370. Regarding his upcoming biographical film, Narain expressed, “Motorsport has been everything for me. This movie tells that story to the world.
As a devoted admirer, I find myself captivated by Narain Karthikeyan’s tale. It’s not merely about the thrill of racing; it embodies self-belief, patriotism, and a vision that remains unseen by others. This is what compels me to be part of this extraordinary narrative.
Who is Narain Karthikeyan?
Narain Karthikeyan, born on January 14, 1977, in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, is recognized as India’s first Formula One racing driver. His passion for motorsports was sparked at a young age due to his father’s involvement; Karthikeyan being a former Indian national rally champion who claimed the South India Rally title an impressive 7 times. His career in motorsports spanned from the year 2005 to 2012.
In 2019, the former racing driver concluded his time with single-seater vehicles. Prior to that, he had competed in various series such as Super GT in Japan, along with F1, NASCAR, Super Formula, 24 Hours of Le Mans, Auto GP, and others.
In the year 2010, Karthikeyan received the fourth highest civilian award given by the Indian government, which is known as the Padma Shri.
Mahesh Narayanan’s work front
On the career side of things, Mahesh Narayanan is presently engrossed in the development of his next project, provisionally named MMMN. This upcoming movie will see Mammootty taking center stage and it’s being hyped as a thrilling spy-action drama.
More recently, Mohanlal, appearing in a significant guest role, has disclosed that the title of this multistarrer is likely to be “Patriot,” though final confirmation is yet to come. Besides established stars of Malayalam cinema, the film boasts an impressive cast, including Kunchacko Boban, Fahadh Faasil, Nayanthara, and others in pivotal parts.
20 years since our last cinematic duel, Twenty:20, I can hardly contain my excitement as I eagerly anticipate the return of Mohanlal and Mammootty to our screens with their magnum opus!
