Ryan Gosling & Will Ferrell Are Tough Guys in New Comedy Movie, First Details

What do we know about Ryan Gosling and Will Ferrell’s new comedy movie?

In the movie called “Tough Guys,” actors Gosling and Ferrell portray two henchmen who are fed up with being disposable and decide to escape from the criminal underworld, effectively redefining the rules as they establish a life for themselves according to their own standards. (The film’s logline suggests this plot.)

At this point, there’s no news about who else will be involved in directing or casting for the movie. However, it’s said that Gosling and Jessie Henderson are discussing the possibility of producing the film with Ferrell and Jessica Elbaum. Additionally, Trevor Engelson and Aaron Folbe are reportedly considering executive production roles for this project.

Next year, Ryan Gosling will appear in the eagerly awaited science fiction film titled Project Hail Mary, and he’ll also make his debut in the Star Wars universe in the upcoming movie Star Wars: Starfighter. His most recent roles were in 2024’s The Fall Guy and 2023’s Barbie.

Recenty, Ferrell featured in Amazon MGM’s You’re Cordially Invited, and before that, he played the villain Maxime alongside Steve Carrell in Despicable Me 4. Interestingly, Ferrell and Gosling have also collaborated previously, as both appeared in Greta Gerwig’s blockbuster film Barbie.
