Laura Wright explains why Carly and Willow’s friendship fell apart on General Hospital
The bond between Carly and Willow on General Hospital started to weaken due to a sequence of betrayals, which significantly altered Carly’s view of her previous confidante.
As reported by Soap Opera Digest, Laura Wright (portraying Carly) stated that her character initially suspected Willow was being manipulated by Drew. “In fact, Carly openly admitted, ‘I thought the whole time it was Drew controlling things, but you are truly this person. This is all you,'” Wright explained.
Carly became increasingly upset when she found out about Willow’s latest actions regarding her son, Michael. In fact, Willow tried to expedite the custody case even though Michael was still recuperating overseas, a fact that Carly is well-aware of. According to Wright, what shocked Carly the most was Willow’s apparent lack of concern for Michael’s wellbeing.
A significant moment arose as Willow illegally entered the Quartermaine mansion to seize Daisy, Sasha and Michael’s daughter, without Carly’s knowledge. This action further fuels Willow’s accumulating list of infractions in Carly’s perspective, as far as she is concerned.
Apart from Carly still harboring anger towards Drew due to their broken romance and his current relationship with Willow, an incident on a recent episode saw Drew asking Carly to mediate between Michael and grant Willow visitation rights for their children, Wiley and Amelia. However, Carly flatly refused and dismissed his request. In Wright’s words, “All she can think about him now is ‘You are a terrible person.’ She probably doesn’t even have the patience to think much more about Drew because honestly, she’d like to harm him!
Instead of maintaining a warm connection like she did with Sonny, Carly’s emotions towards Drew and Willow have soured significantly. The acts of deceit from both parties have deeply affected her previously tight bond with Willow.
