Amazon Studios, under MGM, has officially revealed the 4K and Blu-ray release date for the upcoming sequel to Ben Affleck’s 2016 action thriller film, “The Accountant 2”. Over two months since its theatrical debut, the follow-up continues to maintain a ‘Certified Fresh’ status on Rotten Tomatoes with an impressive rating of 76%, derived from 207 reviews.
The movie features Christian Wolff, who excels at solving intricate puzzles. When an old friend is assassinated and a mysterious message to ‘track down the accountant’ surfaces, Wolff feels obligated to investigate. As the situation escalates, he enlists the help of his reclusive brother, Brax, whose skills are deadly and effective. With the assistance of U.S. Treasury Deputy Director Marybeth Medina, they delve into a dangerous conspiracy, placing themselves in the crosshairs of a relentless gang of assassins determined to protect their hidden truths.

Beginning August 12, 2025, The Accountant 2 can be purchased in high definition formats such as 4K UHD and Blu-ray. During its time in theaters, this movie raked in more than $103 million globally, surpassing its estimated production cost of roughly $80 million.
Gavin O’Connor directed the R-rated follow-up film, with a script penned by Bill Dubuque. The movie runs for 125 minutes, which is equivalent to 2 hours and 5 minutes. Jon Bernthal, who plays Daredevil: Born Again’s lead character, is also playing Brax, the brother of Affleck’s character in this production. Besides Bernthal, the cast includes Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Daniella Pineda, Allison Robertson, and J.K. Simmons.
