What Happened to Suki Waterhouse? Hernia Diagnosis Explained

Suki Waterhouse recently shared via social media that she’s been diagnosed with a hernia. Despite this, she’s set to perform at the Up in the Sky music festival in Aspen, Colorado on August 8, 2025, as part of her upcoming schedule. Following this festival, she plans to kick off the U.K. and European leg of her The Sparklemuffin tour, wrapping up on August 31, 2025. After that, she’ll join Laufey on their A Matter of Time tour from September through October.

Here is what we have learned about Waterhouse’s hernia diagnosis.

Suki Waterhouse diagnosed with a hernia after wearing ‘tight’ pants

In my own words, I’ve been quiet on this platform for quite some time now, and I wanted to share the reason behind it. Six months ago, I found myself dealing with a hernia, caused by wearing some rather snug pants. It’s been a journey of healing, but I’m grateful for the reminder to prioritize my health over fashion.

Additionally, she provided two related images. The initial snapshot captured her standing beneath lush greenery, dressed in a white coat and crop top, complemented by fitted trousers. In contrast, the second photo depicted the multitalented individual in a hospital gown, adorned with a wristband, earphones, and a vape on her chest, while reclining on the bed.

‘You don’t post on Twitter as often anymore,’ has there ever been a thought that I once wore pants so tight six months ago that they led to a hernia, and I’ve been hesitant to share this with you,” the Daisy Jones & The Six star expressed on the platform.

Spectators responded diversely to the post, with numerous individuals drawing attention to the vaping device visible on her torso in the second photo.

“Vape in the hospital is diabolical,” a fan wrote. To which, Waterhouse responded, “So true.”

Translation 1 (Formal): “An individual posted, ‘It seems there’s an issue with her behavior.’ They continued, ‘Vaping is prohibited in a hospital room, and given that she’s hospitalized, it suggests her condition might not be optimal for her health as well.'”

Translation 2 (Informal but still professional): “A person tweeted, ‘Something’s off about her actions.’ They added, ‘You can’t vape in a hospital room and being in a hospital probably means she’s not in the best of health either.’ ”

Translation 3 (Casual): “Someone on Twitter said, ‘She seems out of sorts,’ and went on to say, ‘Vaping isn’t allowed in a hospital room, and if she’s in the hospital, it’s probably because her health is no good too.’

Another supporter similarly voiced concern about Waterhouse’s health, saying, “Please don’t give me a fright like that.” Later, they conveyed optimism that the actress from Assassination Nation will make a full recovery.

A hernia, as explained by the Cleveland Clinic, usually develops in the abdomen or groin area. This happens when an organ squeezes through the muscle or tissue that normally holds it in place. The bulge may appear and disappear during different activities or body positions. Common signs of a hernia are discomfort and pain. To alleviate this condition, surgery is often required.
