Notably, the last instance was the Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster, which had been waiting on the list for four years until it was officially announced at the Summer Games Fest in June. Back in 2024, a well-known former leaker named Midori/Mysticdistance provided several updates about the remake. It was said that the project was initially assigned to another studio, but Square Enix was unsatisfied with the outcomes, causing the game to be transferred to yet another studio.

Lately, user NateTheHate was questioned about the current status of the game in a discussion forum. He responded by stating that the game is still being worked on, but there have been rumors suggesting it might be in danger of being discontinued or even cancelled. Additionally, he mentioned that this information stems from a single source, and he plans to investigate further.
