Summer Games Done Quick 2025 finishes with $2.4M+ raised for Doctors Without Borders

2025’s Summer Games Done Quick has wrapped up another thrilling week-long marathon. With numerous classic games and recent favorites on display, the top speedrunners have brought SGDQ 2025 to a close. This year’s event culminated in a grand total of $2,436,614 raised for Doctors Without Borders.

In 2025, the total funds raised at Summer Games Done Quick fell slightly short of the $2.5 million collected during both this year’s Awesome Games Done Quick event and last July’s Summer Games Done Quick. However, this year’s event still contributed to the grand total of over $50 million that has been raised throughout all Games Done Quick marathons. This impressive milestone was achieved last year during SGDQ. The final donation amount includes direct contributions as well as those made through partners like Fangamer, The Yetee, and Humble Bundle.

At this year’s Summer Games Done Quick event, there were amazing speedruns of classic games, special arcade presentations, the annual Super Mario Maker 2 team race, and Saturdays highlighted by two contemporary favorites: Mario Kart World and Deltarune.

In the upcoming schedule for Games Done Quick, the outstanding female speedrunners will make their return for a week-long charity event titled Flame Fatales 2025, also known as “SurvivHER.” This event is set to take place from September 7th to 14th and boasts an extensive schedule. Highlights include a solo run of the popular Blue Prince B Quest Bingo game, numerous Zelda titles, a unique Final Fantasy 14 Online run, and a Hades 2 bonus incentive. The Black in a Flash community will host a special Kwanzaa marathon later this year. Lastly, a new marathon event called Games Done Queer is being introduced, featuring top LGBTQ+ speedrunners, which will take place from October 31st to November 2nd.

Following that, the Amazing Games Done Quick 2026 will make its comeback in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from January 4-10. If you’d like to catch up on any runs you might have missed, you can check them out on YouTube and the Games Done Quick website.
