Nathan Fillion Teases Abundance of Guy Gardner F-Bombs in Lanterns

Nathan Fillion is teasing an abundance of Guy Gardner f-bombs in the DCU Lanterns show.

The upcoming DC Studios production, titled “Lanterns,” is being developed with Kyle Chandler portraying Hal Jordan and Aaron Pierre taking on the role of John Stewart. Additionally, Firefly’s Nathan Fillion joins the cast as Guy Gardner, making his first appearance in the DC Universe within this series.

What did Nathan Fillion say about Lanterns?

As I chatted with Entertainment Weekly, I couldn’t help but gush about Lanterns. Aaron, man, he’s got a voice as smooth as melted butter, and he’s built like a marble statue. He’s incredibly particular about his character and the journey his character is on. You can tell something heavy is weighing on him. But then there’s this boisterous, arrogant character, Guy Gardner. And in that show, let me tell you, Guy Gardner! I’ve let loose more F-bombs in that project than I think I have throughout my entire career combined.

Additionally, Fillion mentioned that by the end of the show’s first season, there will be a noticeable change or development in the character of Guy Gardner.

Guy Gardner is no longer at ease,” he clarified. “He’s not boasting anymore. This is when John truly demonstrates his strength. He’s a powerful individual. I don’t have any direct scenes with Hal Jordan myself, but meeting Kyle, he’s exactly as you’d expect. He’s cheerful, kind, and a joy to be around.

In the show titled ‘Lanterns’, we follow two space-policing protagonists, John Stewart, a recent recruit, and Hal Jordan, an established Lantern legend. They find themselves entangled in a mysterious case involving a homicide in the Midwest of America.

The series titled “Lanterns” is jointly penned by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King. These individuals also hold the position of executive producers for the show. Initially, James Hawes will be in charge of directing the first two episodes. Unfortunately, an exact release date for “Lanterns” has not been announced, but it is anticipated to debut sometime in 2026.
