James Gunn is considering making at least two Superman-related spin-off television shows.
In American cinemas currently, you can catch the latest Superman adventure. This film, helmed by Gunn and produced by DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures, features David Corenswet in the role of our flying hero, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as the villainous Lex Luthor.
What Superman spin-off shows are being considered?
As reported by The Wall Street Journal, there’s a possibility that Gunn might develop standalone series on DCU TV featuring characters Mister Terrific (portrayed by Edi Gathegi) and Jimmy Olsen (played by Skyler Gisondo).
Currently, there’s no official word from DC that these projects are being developed right now. If they do move forward, it’s uncertain when they might be released. Previously, Peter Safran mentioned that DC aims to launch two live-action and two animated series annually.
Currently, only Peacemaker Season 2 has a confirmed release date (August 21, 2026) on DC’s TV lineup. The Lanterns series is anticipated to debut in 2026 as well. Other shows such as Waller, Paradise Lost, Booster Gold, and more have been previously announced for future seasons.
In the Superman series, you’ll find Anthony Carrigan portraying Metamorpho, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Isabela Merced stepping into the role of Hawkgirl, Sara Sampaio taking on Eve Teschmacher, Wendell Pierce bringing Perry White to life, Beck Bennett playing Steve Lombard, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, Christopher McDonald portraying Ron Troupe, Pruitt Taylor Vince as Jonathan Kent, Neva Howell as Martha Kent, María Gabriela de Faría acting as Angela Spca/The Engineer, and Frank Grillo assuming the role of Rick Flag Sr.
This summer, Warner Bros. Pictures is releasing the first movie from DC Studios to feature Superman on the big screen, directed by James Gunn. In this new take on the classic superhero, Gunn combines action, humor, and emotion in a unique way. The Superman portrayed in this film is motivated by kindness and faith in humanity.
