The cast for the real-life adaptation of “Street Fighter” continues to expand, with rumors indicating that a well-known wrestler is now part of the movie, taking on the role of E. Honda.
What pro wrestler is playing E. Honda in the live-action Street Fighter movie?
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that I, being Hirooki Goto, have stepped into a new ring – the world of film! I’ve been chosen to embody the legendary E. Honda in an upcoming project. You might know me from my wrestling career that kicked off back in 2003. Over the years, I’ve had the honor of holding more than ten titles with New Japan Pro-Wrestling, including their top championships multiple times. Now, it’s time for a new challenge and I can’t wait to bring E. Honda to life!
E. Honda is a consistent figure within the Street Fighter universe. Originating as one of the initial eight playable characters in Street Fighter II, he has been a recurring character in all subsequent games. Furthermore, in the 1994 live-action movie adaptation, he was portrayed by Peter “Navy” Tuiasosopo.

In addition to the already announced WWE star Cody Rhodes playing Guile, another professional wrestler, going by the name Goto, is set to make an appearance in the upcoming movie. There have also been whispers that Joe Anoa’i, better known as Roman Reigns, could portray Akuma in the film.
In the upcoming Street Fighter film, an impressive ensemble of actors has been assembled. Andrew Koji takes on the role of Ryu, Callina Liang portrays Chun-Li, Noah Centineo steps into Ken’s shoes, Jason Momoa transforms into Blanka, Roman Reigns is Akuma, Orville Peck embodies Vega, Andrew Schulz becomes Dan Hibiki, and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson plays Balrog.
The film’s production is slated to kick off in Australia come August. For now, specifics about the storyline are being kept secret. Notably, both Legendary Entertainment and Capcom are collaborating on this project as co-developers and co-producers.
A release date for the Street Fighter movie has not yet been set.
