Pirate Software’s Downfall – Coding Jesus Calls Him Out

Jason “Thor” Hall, famously known as Pirate Software, has been under significant scrutiny recently. Since his involvement with the Stop Killing Games initiative was called into question, people have kept a closer eye on him. Given that Pirate Software poses as an expert authority in game development and programming, such actions have raised eyebrows among the community.

The popularity that led to his success is largely due to his YouTube videos made with MS Paint. In these videos, he breaks down complex topics related to software development and other subjects in an easy-to-understand manner using MS Paint. He has admitted to spending seven years at Blizzard Entertainment and allegedly hacking into power plants for the Department of Energy.

Coding Jesus Exposes Pirate Software

Video blogger known as “Coding Jesus” often employs his programming skills to critique others’ code and share general coding knowledge. In a recent video, he decided to analyze the long-worked-on code of Pirate Software – specifically the one for their project that has been in development for quite some time. The game Thor is working on, titled Heartbound, bears a striking resemblance to Undertale and has been under development for eight years. Due to its slow progress, many have lost hope that it will ever move beyond its early access stage, as development seems to be advancing at a snail’s pace, if at all.

When examining Pirate Software’s game code, Coding Jesus discovered that among the numerous developer streams available on his channel, only two contained actual coding for the game. However, in none of these streams did he observe any coding being written by Pirate Software. To his dismay, what little code he could locate appeared messy and inefficient to him.

Pirate Software’s Image VS Reality

The video featuring Coding Jesus sparked a minor disagreement among two content producers. In his recent video, Coding Jesus discusses the disparity between the public’s view of Pirate Software and the actual contributions he made to support his reputation. For instance, on GitHub, numerous developers often store, manage, create or share their codes. However, it’s worth noting that after more than 20 years in the industry, Pirate Software has not contributed a single line of code.

As a gamer, let me rephrase that for you: Coding Jesus used an intriguing analogy to highlight this disconnect. He painted a picture of a master hacker, capable of taking down entire power plants at the touch of a button, but when I checked his LinkedIn profile, it turned out he was just sending phishing emails instead.

Failing To Take Accountability

It appears that a significant number of viewers have been losing faith in Pirate Software, as evidenced by the consistent decrease in viewership and followers on a daily basis. Heartbound’s recent reviews stand at just 7%, with many expressing dissatisfaction either due to issues with the game or controversies surrounding the Youtuber. What seems most aggravating is that Thor has yet to acknowledge or take responsibility for his actions.

If he simply acknowledged his mistakes or showed a willingness to consider constructive criticism, the backlash might have subsided by now. However, as Pirate Software continues to defend his arguments – even when they are proven wrong – it seems like the criticisms against him keep escalating.
