Non-Hotel Corporation has unveiled its latest venture – a multi-functional Non-Hotel Office in Harumi, Tokyo. This spacious, warehouse-style building will function as our main headquarters, even though we strongly advocate remote work. Designed by our very own architects at Non-Hotel Architects, this office space boasts a variety of work zones, event areas, and meeting rooms, each reflecting the unique perspective that defines our company.

The freshly established office functions as a dual space – a lab and an innovative playground – where NOT A HOTEL can test out new work methodologies and envision upcoming products and services. Its design encourages adaptability and collaboration among all members, fostering innovation. One remarkable aspect of the new headquarters is The NIGO Lounge, an exclusive event and workspace created by globally recognized creative director NIGO®. This private lounge is reserved exclusively for owners of NOT A HOTEL properties, offering a distinctive, limited experience to one group daily. Equipped with cutting-edge smokeless yakiniku grills and kitchens for meal preparation, it’s designed to host intimate dinners and parties.

Within NIGO Lounge, the unique design flair of NIGO is clearly on display. A colossal storage wall, constructed from 284 units of the Swiss USM Haller modular furniture system (a long-standing preference of NIGO), towers high in a U-shape. This carefully organized setup offers both practicality and serves as an eye-catching backdrop. The NOT A HOTEL OFFICE also boasts an authentic Jean Prouvé 6×6 Demountable House from 1944, directly imported from France. This historical structure, filled with vintage French modernist furniture, embodies the minimalist design philosophy of NOT A HOTEL and beautifully encapsulates their motto “living anywhere.

In the heart of the shared area, there’s an impressive 15-meter wooden table, acting as a focal point for both daily office tasks and special events. Stylish black stools from Cassina, designed in partnership with Virgil Abloh, are strategically placed around this expansive table, infusing modern flair. This spacious area stretching 40 meters deep is thoughtfully designed to encourage spontaneous exchanges, bringing together a myriad of thoughts and individuals. The workspace offers 36 flexible workstations and four private pods, seamlessly blending openness with practicality. A multi-purpose room featuring a sleek dark gray kitchen, complete with top-tier appliances and cutlery similar to NOT A HOTEL properties, completes this vibrant setting.

Additionally, the office serves as a showcase for NIGO’s unique assortment of valuable items, incorporating PRATONE lounge chairs to create a workspace that doubles as an art gallery. This cutting-edge office layout perfectly reflects NOT A HOTEL’s progressive attitude towards work and hospitality.
