I’ve just passed the halfway mark at Summer Games Done Quick, and I can hardly contain my excitement! There are only three days left before we wrap up this incredible event, where some of the world’s best speedrunners gather to race through iconic games from past and present as quickly as humanly possible. It’s always a heartwarming sight to see them come together for a great cause – raising money for charity while entertaining millions of viewers on Twitch. I can hardly wait to witness the incredible feats they will undoubtedly perform!
2025’s Summer Games Done Quick has made a comeback in Minneapolis, Minnesota, stretching across an entire marathon week. This year, the event is fundraising for Doctors Without Borders. After four days, the runners have successfully collected over $730,000. Shacknews will be keeping tabs on the event throughout the week, and we’ll provide you with the daily schedule every day. Additionally, we’ll spotlight the most noteworthy runs that you won’t want to miss.

5:38PM – Super Metroid
This year, it’s time once more for Super Metroid to appear at Games Done Quick. The event will begin a bit earlier than usual, taking place on Thursday night. Don’t miss out on the Low% Ice Race, where skilled players will effortlessly make this timeless game seem simple to watch.
7:11PM – DOOM: The Dark Ages
In the first few weeks since the release of the newest installment in the popular DOOM series, a speedrunning community has already established some impressive early strategies. Although The Dark Ages is still in its early stages, the goal time has already been reduced to an astonishing 55 minutes. We can’t wait to witness these incredible feats! It’s time once again to unleash the carnage.
