Space Marine 2 devs’ massive ModKit is available right now, allowing modders to create anything their hearts desire

Saber Interactive’s Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is currently the top-selling Warhammer 40,000 game ever, boosting sales at physical Warhammer stores, driving up sales of other Warhammer 40K games, and planning a follow-up.

As Saber continues to enrich the game with additional content like Operations, new weapons, PvP maps, and more, the studio has unveiled their intention to share their internal tools with modders, ensuring the game’s longevity through imaginative modifications. After a brief delay, these mod tools are now available for use.

Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 Mod Kit released

Without much fanfare, Saber Interactive has made available the tools to craft modifications for Space Marine 2 on Nexus Mods. With the arrival of the official ModKit for their popular third-person cooperative game, players with a knack for modding can now let their creativity run wild, designing an array of content ranging from minor tweaks to entirely new creations. The latest version, Rev 2, includes several bug fixes for improved functionality.

On the download page for the Space Marine 2 Mod Editor, Saber explains that this tool allows you to personalize your gaming experience by directly modifying characters, attributes, and actions within the game’s files. Feel free to tweak gameplay components or test out various settings using tools identical to those employed by our developers – no prior coding knowledge is required!

In addition to the Integration Studio app that comes with ModKit, Saber has also provided a useful PDF guide detailing essential procedures for creating and distributing mods specifically for Space Marine 2.

It’s possible that a ModKit wasn’t strictly essential for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, as players had already managed to create 12-player multiplayer co-op modes, introduce new enemies, weapons, and customization options on their own, even before the tool was made available. In fact, one player went as far as incorporating Duke Nukem into the game for fun and games.

Due to the introduction of a vast ModKit in the Warhammer game, an abundance of possibilities now exist within it. Players are currently developing new enemy factions for the cooperative title, leading to a multitude of thrilling modifications that will enhance Saber’s already rich action game.

In an official capacity, Saber is diligently preparing a significant overhaul, planned for the game’s first anniversary celebration coming up soon this year.
