Based on Scott Menzel’s statement, the review embargo for “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” will lift on July 22, 2025, at 9:00 am Pacific Time/12:00 pm Eastern Time. However, fans can share their early reactions to the movie a day before, starting from July 21, 2025, at 10:00 pm Pacific Time/1:00 am Eastern Time.

Some critics have raised concerns about the swift lifting of the embargo, noting that the critical screenings take place just a few hours before the embargo expires.

As a fan, I can’t help but express my bafflement over the scheduling dilemma facing Fantastic Four. It’s set to screen at 7pm, just hours before a noon embargo. This means critics will barely have three work hours to watch, process, and write their reviews – not including the edit process. It’s not a matter of life or death, but I can’t help wondering why studios continue to rush their films in this manner, even for well-crafted ones like Fantastic Four.
