Demon Slayer Movie Is Longer Than Most Avengers & MCU Movies

The forthcoming “Demon Slayer” movie, signifying the start of the conclusion for the widely popular anime, has disclosed its running time. Known as Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle Chapter 1, this film represents the initial installment in a trilogy that will bring the cherished animated series to a close. With the movie set to premiere in Japanese theaters very soon, fans now have the details about how long they’ll get to enjoy the eagerly anticipated film.

Demon Slayer movie to have a surprisingly long runtime

According to AnimeTV’s report, the upcoming Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle Chapter 1 film is expected to last approximately 2 hours and 35 minutes, which totals to 155 minutes. This runtime surpasses that of many Avengers movies.

Compared to the initial Avengers movie that came out in 2012, lasting 143 minutes, its sequel from 2015, Avengers: Age of Ultron, clocked in at 141 minutes. The subsequent film, Avengers: Infinity War, released in 2018, was slightly longer at 149 minutes. However, the most recent installment, Avengers: Endgame from 2019, is considerably lengthier with a runtime of 181 minutes.

According to the manga series “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” by Koyoharu Gotouge, the anime concluded its Hashira Training arc with the end of its fourth season. Now, it’s set to display the concluding storylines from the source material in three movies. The first movie is titled “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle Chapter 1.” These upcoming films will focus on the Final Battle arc, divided into two parts: the Infinity Castle and the Sunrise Countdown arcs. This means that Tanjiro and the other members of the Demon Slayer Corps are gearing up for their final confrontation against Demon King Muzan Kibutsuji at the Infinity Castle.

The first chapter of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle” is set to debut in cinemas across Japan on July 18, 2025, before it’s released in the U.S. and UK on September 12.
