Games Workshop’s new 40K Encyclopaedia includes a free Space Marine 2 Titus mini to bring more fans into the tabletop hobby

2021 has proven to be a stellar year for Warhammer 40,000, setting new records after the phenomenal success of Saber Interactive’s Space Marine 2 video game.

In a clandestine homage to the game, Games Workshop is adding their seasoned character Lieutenant Titus to the latest edition of the Warhammer 40,000 Character Encyclopedia.

GW bundles Titus with new 40K book

In contrast to previous Warhammer reference books published by Games Workshop (GW), the forthcoming release features an exclusive addition: a free miniature hero, Lieutenant Titus, included with the $28/£22 encyclopedia edition.

GamesRadar has disclosed that the game character miniature comes as a push-fit model. All you need are some clippers to separate its pieces. To emphasize its worth, it’s important to note that a single miniature of Lieutenant Titus usually retails for around £20 by itself.

For both beginners and seasoned fans, the latest Warhammer 40,000 Character Encyclopedia is tailored. Given this, offering Titus as a complimentary miniature seems quite logical.

In a groundbreaking move, Space Marine 2, the largest 40K launch to date, has drawn numerous newcomers into the tabletop series. This monumental debut not only led to an unprecedented surge of real-life Warhammer Store patrons, but also boosted the sales of other 40K games significantly.

The massive launch of Space Marine 2 has been significant, but it’s also been followed by underwhelming debuts like SEGA’s flawed remake of the initial game. As Games Workshop seeks another success on this scale and a Space Marine 3 is in development, it’s an exciting time to be a fan of Warhammer, or more specifically, Warhammer 40K.
