Katelyn MacMullen recalls her reaction on learning Willow is baby Daisy’s stalker
Katelyn MacMullen, known for her role as calm and composed Willow on General Hospital, shared insights about uncovering that her character had been secretly entering the Quartermaine residence to steal baby Daisy.
In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, the actress reminisced about discovering the surprising plot turn – it wasn’t through a dramatic unveiling, but rather when she first read the script.
MacMullen stated that he unexpectedly witnessed filming of certain scenes on the same set, just prior to one where Sasha is seen in her room receiving the incorrect baby. He exclaimed, “Someone must have swapped the babies! This is absurd!” Later on, a script arrived which indicated that Willow experiences a flashback involving picking up Daisy. This is when he discovered the twist – “Ah, it’s Willow who’s involved!
The actress confessed that although Willow’s behavior is intense, it originates from profound emotional pain. Following a harsh legal dispute over custody of Wiley and Amelia, Willow descended into despair. Her choice to marry Drew, despite Michael’s cautions, further complicated matters, eventually driving her to the actions she took with Daisy.
In tough situations, extreme actions might be necessary, MacMullen explained. One aspect of your mind might think, ‘Wow, this is crazy!’ but another part could reason, ‘If you’re in a really dire state, you might indeed consider sending a message.’
MacMullen underlined that Willow’s past sorrows and detachments from her children have significantly impacted her psychological well-being. In other words, “I believe that her emotional wounds are definitely going to shape how she behaves,” she stated. “It’ll be intriguing to observe whether or not they delve into this aspect, as I think it offers a fascinating perspective on human behavior.
