The film is helmed by director James Gunn and features David Corenswet as our main character Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult portraying Lex Luthor.

As a gamer, I’ve always found Superman to be more than just a superhero – he’s an embodiment of values that resonate with me. In my eyes, he symbolizes the spirit of America: an immigrant who brought his unique strengths to our nation, yet his story goes beyond nationalism. For me, it’s primarily about the universal message that basic human kindness is a virtue, and something we as a society seem to have forgotten too often.

As a gamer, I’d say, “Absolutely, the movie might resonate differently in different regions. It’s all about promoting human kindness, and unfortunately, there are some unkind folks out there who might twist that message into something offensive just because it’s about being kind. Frankly, I don’t care about their narrow-mindedness.

The comments spread rapidly as some individuals from conservative groups found issue with Gunn’s perspective. For instance, Fox News has begun referring to the film as “Superwoke,” with anchor Kellyanne Conway stating, “We don’t visit movie theaters to be lectured and have someone force their ideology upon us.

Conway’s response to Gunn’s remarks came regardless of the fact that the Superman character has been deeply ingrained in popular culture since the 1930s, and the immigrant allegory has consistently been a significant part of his allure.

Gunn clarified to Variety that he has no comments for anyone who’s propagating negativity regarding Superman, or attempting to transform the topic into a battleground for cultural conflicts.

James’ brother, Sean Gunn, who plays Maxwell Lord in the DCU, stated, “My response is that it perfectly encapsulates what the movie stands for. We stand with our people, especially immigrants. Indeed, Superman is an immigrant, and those we support in this nation are immigrants as well. If you disagree, then perhaps you’re not embracing American values. Those who oppose immigrants aren’t true to the American spirit.
