PS Plus July 2025 Extra, Premium reveal date, confirmed games, State of Play and all games leaving

For PS Plus subscribers, there’s plenty to look forward to! Although Sony has emphasized that first-party AAA games won’t debut on the service like Xbox Game Pass, a highly anticipated third-party game is set to launch day one soon, which was Shuhei Yoshida’s favorite at Summer Game Fest 2025. Before that, we have exciting times ahead with the July 2025 PS Plus Extra and Premium games. The announcement date is just around the corner, and here you will find the confirmed titles so far, as well as updates on games leaving and news of another State of Play.

PS Plus July 2025 Extra and Premium games reveal date

On July 9th, we can expect Sony to unveil the July 2025 lineup for their PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers. Historically, they reveal these games one week after the release of the Essentials, which in this case was on July 1st.

Once the curtain is drawn back, games will emerge for play on July 15th. As for the Essentials scheduled for August 2025, they are anticipated to be unveiled on July 30th, with a launch set for August 5th.

Once the curtain is lifted, games will start on July 15th. The Essentials due in August 2025 should be announced on July 30th and then released on August 5th.

By the 5th of August, don’t forget to secure your copies of the following games currently available: King of Fighters XV, Diablo 4, and Just Cause.

Confirmed PS Plus Premium July 2025 games

Only two games have been confirmed for PS Plus Premium for July 2025:

  • Twisted Metal 3
  • Twisted Metal 4

During the State of Play in June 2025, Sony officially announced that the captivating game Sword of the Sea, developed by Giant Squid (creators of Abzu and The Pathless), will also be released on its launch day in August.

Additionally, Sony has verified that the classic versions of Resident Evil 2 and 3 from the original PlayStation will be added to the Premium tier “at a later point this summer.” While no specific date has been provided, it’s reasonable to assume they are referring to August.

State of Play

As of now, we don’t have a specific date set, but expect a State of Play event in July 2025 focusing on Ghost of Yotei. This special showcase will offer an in-depth look at the game mechanics before its official launch on October 2nd.

Games leaving PS Plus Extra and Premium July 2025

Below are all the games known to be leaving PS Plus Extra and Premium on July 15th:

  • Dying Light 2 (Extra)
  • Remnant II (Extra)
  • Mount & Blade II Bannerlord (Extra)
  • Vampire The Masquerade – Swangsong (Extra)
  • Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core Reunion (Premium)
  • Job Simulator (Premium)

Even though there are just six games left on my list before I wrap up my gaming marathon, it’s a bummer they’re all so darn good! Dying Light 2 is a must-play, especially since The Beast’s release date is fast approaching. And Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord? That RPG offers nearly endless possibilities and freedom that makes me feel like the master of my own destiny.

The enhanced version of Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core Reunion offers an impressive remastering of the original PSP gameplay, offering essential context for Zack in Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2. Furthermore, it presents Sephiroth’s transformation from a beloved hero to a feared adversary through its compelling backstory.

In other updates regarding PlayStation, it seems that Grand Theft Auto 6 has recently popped up on the PlayStation Network Store for regions where Grand Theft Auto was previously prohibited.
