Actor Jason Momoa, known for his role as Aquaman, recently got wild at a Black Sabbath show in England, diving into the crowd’s lively mosh area. This concert was a special event, marking the final performance of the band and lead vocalist Ozzy Osbourne, who announced his retirement due to his Parkinson’s disease diagnosis.

In numerous social media clips, Jason Momoa was spotted joining the throng of fans in a mosh pit during Black Sabbath‘s “Back to the Beginning” concert at Villa Park, Birmingham. The crowd eagerly anticipated a four-song set from guest performer Pantera. Upon reaching the pit, some spectators surrounded the 45-year-old actor, yet he appeared unfazed and started grooving and enjoying the band’s tunes as soon as they commenced their show.

In the footage, Momoa could be seen wearing a black tank top, pants, and boots.

A different video circulating online showed the famous musician, standing close to the stage prior to diving into the crowd.

In an interview with Kerrang!, Momoa discussed his role as host for Back to the Beginning. He mentioned that the opportunity came unexpectedly while he was trying to secure tickets to the concert as a fan. “I was simply calling my friends,” said the star of Dune. “I called Scott Ian, I called Kirk [Hammett], I contacted many others begging for tickets.” However, it was Ross Halfin, the photographer of almost every band, who reached out and asked if Momoa would be attending.

Momoa initially wanted to buy a ticket for the event, but then he was told by Halfin that Sharon Osbourne wanted him to be the host instead. This came as quite a shock to him, and he exclaimed, “I’m trying to get a ticket, and now they want me to host it?” He had never hosted anything before, so he found himself in a situation where he had to stand up in front of a large crowd and host the event, which was being broadcast on pay-per-view. “Goodness gracious…”, he said, expressing his surprise and apprehension.

Momoa expressed that he’d likely feel quite nervous, almost like he might wet his pants, during the upcoming concert. Furthermore, he asserted that the event would undoubtedly go down as “the most incredible heavy metal performance ever recorded.
