Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Gets Release Date & Plot Update

The anticipated release date for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 was unveiled with a less-than-ideal update during the Anime Expo in Los Angeles, California, held over the July 4 weekend in 2025. The initial season premiered in Japan from October 3, 2020, to March 27, 2021. The sequel was divided into two halves: the first half (consisting of five episodes) aired from July 6, 2023, to August 3, 2023, followed by the second half (which included eighteen episodes) between August 31, 2023, and December 28, 2023. Following the conclusion of Season 2, it was revealed that the series would soon adapt the Culling Game arc from the manga; however, whether this adaptation would be a movie or Season 3 of the anime remained unclear at the time.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 could get a 2026 release date

At the 2025 Anime Expo’s Jujutsu Kaisen panel, it was disclosed by Junya Enoki, the voice actor for series lead Yuji Itadori, that Season 3 is currently in production and he has been actively recording for it. Enoki also hinted at the intense battle scenes expected in the upcoming season, stating “I’ve already started recording, and I can assure you, the battle scenes are something extraordinary. The panel showcased additional material from behind the scenes of Jujutsu Kaisen’s voice actors recording for Season 3, as well as preliminary storyboard sketches. Enoki subtly suggested the path Yuji’s tale will take in the forthcoming chapter during this discussion. He mentioned that his character would have a clear understanding of what and why he is fighting, due to the events in the second season.

It’s quite possible that this development may fall short of fan expectations, as Season 3 might not premiere before 2026 at the latest.

The anime is a television series based on the manga with the same title, written by Gege Akutami. It initially aired from March 2018 to September 2024. Studio MAPPA was responsible for producing the last two seasons, as well as the movie titled Jujutsu Kaisen 0. They are also working on the next installment of the show.
