As James Gunn’s Superman movie is almost ready for its theatrical release, David Corenswet, the actor playing Superman in the film, has shared some intriguing ideas he’d like to see in future DC Universe projects. David Corenswet shares interesting ideas for Superman’s DCU crossover

In a recent conversation, the 31-year-old actor shared his thoughts on possible collaborations within the DC Universe, specifically involving Superman. He expressed enthusiasm for the concept of Superman serving as an uncle to Robin. Furthermore, this actor also proposed an intriguing idea: a love triangle between Superman, Lois Lane, and Wonder Woman.

David Corenswet expressed his preference for a character to team up with Superman, stating, “I believe Batman would be my top pick, but now I’m thinking that one of the Robins could offer something intriguing. That’s because I feel Superman exudes ‘dad energy.’ Although their relationship has been explored in some versions – particularly through his sons – it might be fascinating to see him as a mentor figure to Batman’s young protege.

James Gunn has confirmed that the three iconic characters from DC Comics – Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman – will eventually join forces in his reimagined DC Universe, though we may have to wait a while for this to occur. The upcoming series “The Brave and the Bold” is set to introduce Robin, potentially leading to an earlier team-up between Superman and Batman’s sidekick.

The actor who plays Superman proposed a potential crossover involving Kal-El and Wonder Woman. Intriguingly, he hinted at the possibility of a love triangle but with roles reversed. Lois Lane, played by Rachel Brosnahan, humorously commented that Lois would likely have much to say about such an arrangement.

It remains to be seen whether fans will get to see the crossovers with Superman that David Corenswet hopes for in upcoming DCU films. For now, they can look forward to watching the new Superman movie when it hits theaters on July 11, 2025.
