The Thing Gets Another Bearded Look in New Fantastic Four Spot

As a die-hard gamer and comic book fan, I’ve just caught a fresh glimpse into the upcoming movie, “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” set to hit theaters on July 25, 2025. This film is not only going to introduce Marvel’s legendary first family but also kick off Phase Six of the MCU. And let me tell you, they’ve given The Thing a new beard look in this movie, which made its debut in the final trailer for the film. I can hardly wait!

Fantastic Four footage spotlights the Thing’s beard again

Recently, user Cosmic Marvel shared a fresh video snippet of “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” (previously known as Twitter). This new clip offered fans an up-to-date glimpse of The Thing’s impressive beard.

The video begins by showing Galactus strolling through New York City streets, followed by a conversation between Reed Richards, Johnny Storm, and the Thing. Johnny inquires about the plan, apparently regarding a confrontation with Galactus. In response, Richards reassures them by saying, “Have faith in me.

This results in Johnny expressing dislike for the proposal, whereas The Thing, also known as Ben Grimm, describes Richard’s plan as “poor.” In this scenario, The Thing is depicted with a rugged beard.

In the final trailer that was recently shared, it’s revealed that The Thing sports a beard as he seems to be plummeting down from above, with Johnny following close behind. One of the notable changes to The Thing’s appearance in the live-action adaptation is this beard. Initially, fans were taken aback when they first saw it, but it turns out that this beard is a faithful representation of the character as depicted in the comics.

In the film titled “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” Pedro Pascal takes on the character of Reed, Vanessa Kirby portrays Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn embodies Johnny, and Bachrach is cast as The Thing. Additionally, Julia Garner can be seen in the movie playing the part of the Silver Surfer.
