According to reports, Netflix has apparently terminated “The Residence” following its first season. This Shondaland production, a comedic murder mystery that debuted on March 20, 2025, featured Uzo Aduba and Giancarlo Esposito as part of an extensive cast.

Regrettably, even with renowned cast members and Shonda Rhimes’ production company’s support, the series won’t be renewed for another season on the streaming service.

The series boasted an extensive use of visual effects, as well as Netflix’s largest White House replica ever constructed, which was made up of seven different stages, adorned with 10 miles of molding, 200 functional doors, and a total weight of 144,000 pounds in flooring.

Interestingly, Ransom Canyon had also spent four weeks within the Top 10 and peaked at number 2 as well, garnering an impressive 9.4 million views during its first full week on air.
