Nicholas Hoult discusses the possibility of his portrayal of Beast from the X-Men appearing in the movie, Avengers: Doomsday.
Right now, the film “Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame” is being made. This grand superhero adventure is helmed by directors Joe and Anthony Russo, who are more commonly referred to as the Russo Brothers.
In the near future, you’ll find Hoult portraying Lex Luthor in James Gunn’s Superman film, marking his debut in the DC Universe that Gunn and Peter Safran are building. Previously, Hoult has appeared as Henry “Hank” McCoy/Beast in several X-Men films such as X-Men: First Class (2011), X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), X-Men: Apocalypse (2016), and Dark Phoenix (2019).
What did Nicholas Hoult say about his X-Men character and Avengers: Doomsday?
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, James McAvoy stated that there have been no discussions between him and Marvel regarding a return as the Beast character. As a result, it’s unlikely that fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will see him appear in Avengers: Doomsday.
To clarify, it’s official that Kelsey Grammer will once again embody the Beast character in the upcoming film Doomsday. In 2006, he first brought this role to life in X-Men: The Last Stand, and more recently made a brief appearance during the end credits of 2023’s The Marvels.
Hoult expressed his thoughts on Grammar’s performance, stating, “Kelsey played an exceptional Beast. He reminds me of the Beast from my childhood, along with other cast members like Patrick [Stewart] and Ian [McKellen] who are reprising their roles, as well as James [Marsden] and others…These were the characters I grew up watching in X-Men films. I’m thrilled to see what they accomplish with it. It’ll be intriguing to witness how they blend these characters into that universe.
In Avengers: Doomsday, set to release in US theaters on December 18, 2026, Marsden, Stewart, and McKellen are set to reprise their roles as Cyclops, Charles Xavier, and Magneto from the X-Men series. The sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, is scheduled for release on December 17, 2027.
The trio of Marsden, Stewart, and McKellen will be back as Cyclops, Charles Xavier, and Magneto in the upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday, hitting US theaters on December 18, 2026. This will be followed by another installment, Avengers: Secret Wars, slated for release on December 17, 2027.
