Update: We had a first glimpse of the commemorative Air Jordan 5 “Wings” in May, marking the Jordan Brand Wings Scholars Program’s 10-year anniversary. Now, Nike has officially revealed this sneaker, showcasing its distinctive features. As mentioned earlier, it boasts a “Metallic Silver” construction with nods to the 10th anniversary and the phrase “No One Flies Alone,” which appears on both the shoe and packaging. Other details include a hand print at the sole, “WINGS” emblems on the interior tongue and below the Jumpman logo on the heel, and an expected release this fall through Nike SNKRS and select retailers for $215 USD. Keep an eye out for the exact launch date.
In 2015, the Jordan Brand launched the Jordan Wings Scholars Program, providing educational resources to high school students. Since then, more than a decade has passed, along with countless scholarships and over 100,000 volunteer hours from Jordan Brand employees. To mark ten years of this initiative, the Jumpman team is commemorating it with a unique Air Jordan 5 “Wings” design. This shoe, which turns 35 this year, has been part of a series before, featuring an artistic rendition of the model previously.
This time, the foundation of the sneaker is a gleaming “Metallic Silver”. It showcases thematic elements such as a “10” symbol at the heel on the side, and text that says “In This Family” on the right shoe’s toe and “No One Flies Alone” on the left. The Jumpman logo on the heel includes a “WINGS” tagline underneath it. Lastly, a silver Wings hangtag with a tassel adds to the festive atmosphere.
Currently, there’s no word on when Jordan Brand plans to launch the Air Jordan 5 “Wings” colorway. Keep an eye out for more information, including official images showcasing the pair, as we anticipate it will be available this fall through Nike SNKRS and selected retailers in women’s sizes. The starting price is expected to be $210 USD.
