When KKR star Varun Chakravarthy worked in Vishnu Vishal’s Jeeva as junior artist for Rs 600

As a follower dedicated to the sport, I’m proud to be associated with Varun Chakaravarthy, the IPL spin bowler who shines brightly for Shah Rukh Khan’s Kolkata Knight Riders. While he may have made a name for himself on the cricket field, what you might not know is that this talented player once graced the silver screen as a junior artist in a movie!

Do you know Varun Chakravarthy once appeared as a junior artist in a movie?

Indeed, you’re correct! Star cricketer Varun Chakravarthy has an interesting past in the film industry – he previously worked as an extra in the movie “Jeeva,” which features Vishnu Vishal. This fascinating fact was shared by Varun himself during a chat with retired Test player Ravichandran Ashwin on YouTube.

In conversation, the IPL player shared that he initially signed on for ₹600 a day as a junior artist, which now translates to about 300 USD daily. Additionally, Varun disclosed that his chance to play cricket on-screen stemmed from his involvement in Tennis tournaments.

Reflecting on his past, Varun mentioned that before taking up cricket, he had a job at an architectural company where he made about 14,000 rupees monthly. At the age of 24, the actor chose to pursue a career in filmmaking and worked as an assistant director for some time. However, it was eventually cricket that captured his heart.

Initially, Varun gained recognition following his performance in the 2018 Tamil Nadu Premier League. Subsequently, he joined the IPL team owned by Preity Zinta’s Kings XI Punjab in 2019.
