In a surprising turn of events at the end of Ironheart, it was revealed that the figure hiding under Anthony Ramos’ character, Parker Robbins’, red cloak is actually the one pulling the strings.

In a recent chat, the creator of Ironheart clarified if Sacha Baron Cohen was intended to play Mephisto in the show. She explained that while she had ideas about this character, the final decision wasn’t solely hers – the studio was also involved in the planning process.

Chinaka Hodge shared with Entertainment Weekly that it wasn’t her choice made in isolation; instead, Marvel gave her the authority to make this decision. She isn’t certain about the future of the character or Sasha within the MCU, but as a fan herself, she really hopes to see more of him appearing frequently.

In Episode 6 of Ironheart, we’re introduced to Cohen, who takes on the role of the devilish character Mephisto in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He attempts to engage Dominique Thorne’s character Riri Williams in a confrontation. Mephisto proposes to revive her deceased friend, Natalie, as a means to do so. However, the episode concludes with a suspenseful twist: it appears that Williams has struck a deal with the devil, resulting in Natalie being brought back to life, leaving viewers on edge about what will happen next.

Prior to the debut of Ironheart, there were theories suggesting Dormammu could be the primary antagonist in the series, much like his role in Doctor Strange. But Marvel delivered a shocking plot twist instead.

Speaking about Williams appearing to accept Mephisto’s offer, Chinaka Hodge expressed, “I was just as surprised by the ending as the audience will be. It’s a thrilling resolution, and it sets up Riri for significant, mature choices within the MCU. I believe our suspenseful endings will captivate our fans and spark their imaginations about what might happen to them in the future.
