Ironheart’s Alden Ehrenreich on Future of Iron Man Villain’s Son in MCU

Following episodes 4-6 of the Ironheart series, I was taken aback, along with many others, by the transformation of my character, Alden Ehrenreich‘s Ezekiel ‘Zeke’ Stane, from an ally to a villain for Dominique Thorne’s Riri Williams. This sudden shift has left viewers, including myself, curious about Stane’s future in the MCU. In a recent interview, I shared some insights about my character’s potential journey ahead, offering fans a sneak peek into the possible trajectory of Obadiah Stane’s son.

Alden Ehrenreich hopes to see Zeke Stane return after Ironheart

In a recent chat, the actor from Solo: A Star Wars Story shared his preferred path for Zeke Stane, a character who transitioned into a villain towards the end of the Ironheart series.

Alden Ehrenreich didn’t reveal any details about his character’s future in the MCU, but he expressed a desire to see Chinaka Hodge, the showrunner for Ironheart, explore the complex relationships between Zeke Stane and Riri Williams. He believes that Chinaka, who is driving the storyline, should continue to develop her vision.

The 35-year-old actor, Hodge, commended Ironheart’s portrayal of Stane’s transformation into a villain, stating, “I believe she crafted a method to make these characters exciting yet deeply personal and captivating. I admire that aspect — its unpredictability and the richness it offers.

Initially appearing as tech expert Joe McGillicuddy in the series Ironheart, Alden Ehrenreich was later revealed to be Ezekiel Stane, the son of Obadiah Stane portrayed by Jeff Bridges in Iron Man. As the events of Ironheart unfolded, conflicts between Williams and Stane led him to change allegiances, eventually transforming into a villain.

Although Ehrenreich has hinted at returning to his MCU part, Marvel has not yet given any definite information regarding Ironheart Season 2 or the continuing storyline of his character.
