The cast for the live-action version of “Street Fighter” continues to expand, with rumors indicating that a professional wrestler from WWE has been added to the movie, taking on the role of Guile.
Who is playing Guile in the Street Fighter movie?
As per recent updates from Nexus Point News, it’s being discussed that WWE star Cody Rhodes might take on the character of Guile. Originating in 1991’s Street Fighter II, Guile has become one of the most recognizable figures within the series due to his distinctive flat-top hairstyle, memorable theme tune, and military uniforms, as he is portrayed as a colonel in the U.S. Air Force.
If Rhodes secures the role, he’ll team up with another WWE legend in the movie, since it’s rumored that the character Akuma will be portrayed by Joe Anoa’i, who is famously recognized as Roman Reigns in the WWE world.
In the upcoming Street Fighter film, an illustrious ensemble of talented actors has been assembled. Andrew Koji takes on the role of Ryu, while Callina Liang portrays Chun-Li, and Noah Centineo steps into Ken’s shoes. The impressive lineup also includes Jason Momoa as Blanka, Roman Reigns as Akuma, Orville Peck as Vega, Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki, and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog.
The filming for this project is set to start in Australia next August. At present, specifics about the storyline are being kept confidential. Notably, Legendary Entertainment and Capcom are working together on both developing and producing this venture.
A release date for the Street Fighter movie has not yet been set.
