Following his success with projects such as Iron Man and The Mandalorian, Jon Favreau is now taking the lead in Disney’s Oswald The Lucky Rabbit series. This series has recently recruited three key actors to join its cast. Based on one of the earliest characters created by The Walt Disney Company, the hybrid of animation and live action will bring back Oswald after a significant absence.
Jon Favreau’s upcoming Oswald The Lucky Rabbit series casts Ravi Cabot-Conyers and more
In a new development for the upcoming Disney series based on Oswald The Lucky Rabbit, initially envisioned by Jon Favreau of Iron Man fame, Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Mykal-Michelle Harris, and Ryder Allen have been cast in the leading roles.
Cabot-Conyers, known for his role as Wim in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, has been cast as Jake in the show featuring Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Jake is a compassionate middle schooler who values diligence. Meanwhile, Harris will play Jen, a student who is strategic and artistic, while Allen will depict Taylor, a conscientious middle schooler who strives not to disappoint his friends.
Significantly, Allen has demonstrated his acting abilities to global audiences by playing a young version of Oswald Cobblepot in the movie “The Penguin,” starring Colin Farrell. As reported by Deadline, Allen, along with two others, will spearhead the human cast for the upcoming series “Oswald The Lucky Rabbit.” However, Disney has yet to disclose who will provide the voices in this show.
Originally developed by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks in 1927, Oswald was intended to be Disney’s primary character. However, a contract dispute led to Universal Pictures claiming the rights to Oswald in 1928. As a result, Disney chose to create a new character to serve as their mascot, eventually introducing the iconic Mickey Mouse.
Disney is planning a comeback for its classic character Oswald The Lucky Rabbit by entrusting the series to Jon Favreau. He has previously directed successful projects for Disney, such as 2016’s The Jungle Book, 2019’s The Lion King, and Star Wars: The Mandalorian.
Though Disney has announced the main actors for the Oswald The Lucky Rabbit series, they haven’t fixed a specific launch date as of now.
