This one-of-a-kind journey offers the peculiar humor that Kojima is renowned for. Hideo Kojima is currently on a global tour for Death Stranding 2, led by Geoff Keighley. At this event, the renowned director opened up about his concerns of not being able to create another video game during the pandemic and how Death Stranding 2 serves as an effort to reconnect with the world.

While on the tour, Geoff Keighley posed a question to Kojima: Has any player reaction caught you off guard? Geoff mentioned that fans have shown extreme excitement over the “pizza man” character, which is linked to a scene in the game where Sam battles a pizza chef who is actually Mamoru Oshii, the director of Ghost in the Shell. (For those not familiar, this refers to a scene in the game.)

According to Gamesradar, Kojima expressed his disappointment by saying, “I stuffed the game with lots of Easter eggs, but I was disappointed because they were all quickly discovered on social media. The game hasn’t even been out for a full week yet.

Kojima feels disappointed that Easter Eggs were uncovered through social media, but acknowledged, “I’m sharing all these posts, so the responsibility lies with me.

As a gamer, I can totally understand why Kojima might feel taken aback and a bit down when all those Easter Eggs were discovered so swiftly, given the game was in development for several long years. It’s mind-boggling how some massive games that take ages to materialize can be beaten by players in just a matter of days.

In Death Stranding 2, one of the many intriguing Easter Eggs is the appearance of the VTuber, Usada Pekora. This inclusion could be attributed to Hideo Kojima’s statement, “If I find something appealing, I’ll incorporate it,” which seems to be the reason behind numerous whimsical Easter Eggs and celebrity appearances in the game.

In other DS2 news, the game debuted No.1 in UK sales, overtaking Mario Kart World.
